Hi all,
I am trying to install db2 verin 9.5 in an AIX lpar 5300-08.

The db2setup crashes my putty session,
if I try exec ./db2setup.

even though I have set the DISPLAY variable as recommended in the
Install guide.

Also when simply run as ./db2setup I get the error message

0403-006 Execute permission denied

Any ideas where the problem may lie ?

thanks

Hi David,

seems that you need to change the permission of the file (chmod) or
maybe use the root user to install.
I think it is possible since 9.5 to install without root, but take a
look at the information center:

Thanks Michael,

but it was actually worse than that , The people at SAP vcopied a file
over that was a zip file and not a tar file and somehow managed toscrew
it up. Having coped the correct file over again setup works wonderfully.
just migrated 12 instances this afternoon. Now to test everything !

Cheers
